I am allergic to mushrooms and was wondering if there are any substitutions for the mushroom soup when making a green bean casserole.|||Cream of celery soup. And here%26#039;s a hint, also: buy a bottle of celery salt, to enhance the taste, without all the NaCl !!|||Cream of chicken,or I%26#039;ve tried cream of potato which was pretty good also|||cream of celery.|||I have often subbed any other %26#039;cream of%26#039; soup and added some sliced mushrooms. Often, people will wonder what the other taste is, or did I cook the green beans in somethinf other than water. You might even try a bique or a thick New England style Clam Chowder.
Always experiment and you%26#039;ll find a nice substitute. There is nothing better than stumbling upon something you can call your own in the kitchen...well, almost.
Scott in NY - busy cooking in a few minutes|||Cream of anything will work. Cream of chicken, broccoli, or anything really. It%26#039;ll still be great!|||cream of chicken or cream of celery soup. or just make up a mixture of some cream/milk and sour cream.|||Cream of chicken or celery or onion are fine too. Any cream soup will do.|||Oh yes, try using Cream of Chicken soup instead. I%26#039;m not crazy about mushrooms either %26amp; substitute this instead.|||Yes, cream of chicken works just as well, enjoy!
