Is it more difficult to see when candling green/blue hen eggs? If so when is the best time to do it?
What am I looking for? They have been in the incubator for 5 days now.
My first time hatching and Im grateful for all the help I have been give by all you lovely knowledgeable people!
Thanks again|||Hi,
It%26#039;s no harder than candling white eggs, very easy.
I had 6 Cream crested legbars eggs in my incubator, after a week, last Friday, I candled them, it%26#039;s very easy to see which ones are fertile and those that are not, I had 4 fertile.
Remember to stop turning the eggs after day 15, leave them laying side ways down, add more and close the vents on your incubator. Leave closed until they have all hatched, dry and fluffy then move to your brooder.|||It isn%26#039;t more difficult than normal eggs- Maran eggs, as they are darker, are difficult but you should have no problem being able to see veins and/or a heartbeat :)
